Help with cab door security

I have a DIY conversion and, whenever I buy a van for conversion, I have household mortise locks fitted (also have long-shaft keys made). I also have bars fitted across the windows of the two front doors. Over the years there have been many attempts to break into the vans but since installing these security measures none have succeeded - and you always know when attempts have been made.

as we all no if the low life wants the motorhome then ok its gone that why we all have insurance, but the point of this it is a visual form of protection.least for the people that want to take bits from the motorrhome to sell for d....s etc

No need for chains, use the SEAT BELTS. Put the seat belt through the door grab handle and then click it into holder. If you have to get out in a hurry you only have to press the release button.

Have a look at one of the shows, last year we purchased a plastic coated metal cable with a type of lock that you feed the cable into. We lock it in place when in the van at night but it has the key hanging on a string in case of emergency. It this thread is still running when I get home I will look up the make. It cost in the region of £30. We have a new fiat and just run the cable between the doors and behind the seats. Always turn seats to face inwards just to make it harder for anyone that wants to make off with it.
