We were told by a water engineer not to store wateer after the bottle had been opened for more than three days.
So I put the dregs of some bottled water into the toilet flush system & it grew a black algea
Which had been a devil to get rid of
Didnt know what would happen if you drank it till now

The General Ecology unit looks good,however I could not find any info on the amount of water a filter would be expected to treat before change.Has anyone any info on this?

The filter (£42) lasts for approx 400 gall (1900ltrs) before replacement required. Maybe worth buying the seperate tap for £45 then the filters will last considerably longer.
Haven't got one but are seriously considering it;

Hi peejay might be a bit thick here but why will filter last longer with tap.Husband did get one at Earls Court without tap,paid £100.
As i posted earlier we change vans often so just want to remove it,and would have to leave tap in van because of hole in surface.So thought without tap would be perfect solution.
Just twigged as writing of course all water for washing up whatever will go through it.Hadn't given that a thought thanks peejay,will have rethink,it will be cheaper to buy a new tap.

If you change your m/h often (how often?) then in your case, might be better not to have a tap as you'd have to drill a hole for it and then have to leave the tap there on selling. (Or maybe you could put a blanking plug there and transfer tap and filter to new m/h).
Decisions, decisions...
pete.

Not sure if you can fit the filter under the bathroom sink (is there room), if you could, that would mean you have clean drinking water and also clean water for teeth cleaning.
The filters would not get used up so quickly as well.

Hi peejay it's up for sale now,they usually last about a year.Not putting in this van maybe next one could be for keeps.We should stay away from shows,like kids in a sweet shop.
Joking aside i do think water filters are a brilliant idea.
Homer your sore throat cost my old man £100,you gave me the idea,i talked him into it.Glad you did,i know it's going to be great.
