Post Time: Show the Right Time

Hi

Summertime is over Crying or Very sad The clocks went back to GMT last night.

So to make the posting time that is displayed on each post within MHF correct for you, you will need to set the time zone in your Profile/Account.

1. Go to
Only registered users can see links on our Forum
Join Now or Login



2. click on the Change Info Button


3. Scroll down to "Forums Timezone"

4. Use the drop down to choose GMT ( this is for UK other regions choose appropriatly)

5. Scroll further down the page , click on "Save Changes" Wink

What about someone in the US or Spain - global wouldn't work.

However now that DST is in some regions of the US perhaps software will change

Hi Vidura

Timestamping of posts is done by the forum software which is on the server which runs MHF ...it is based in Maidenhead which means that ( * as of last night ) the timestamps are set according to Greenwich meantime.

So whilst a member in the UK would see that this post was made today at Sun 22:39 a member in Sydney Australia , if he did not alter the Forum timezone local to him would think I had posted it at 9:39 Monday morning Laughing ..... well I think that's why Rolling Eyes and it's the best excuse I can come up with for now Wink

* do not read this bit it is wrong ...nothing changed as far as the server times go ...see Franks post below ....you have to get up early in the morning to fool Frank Laughing )
