Do you find it a pain to unravel hoses to fill up ?
Do flat hoses spring leaks with alot of use ?

I have got through maybe 20 hoses since starting my full timing trip 6 years ago.
Trail and error has brought me to this solution ...............

Buy one of these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fold-flat-hose-15m_W0QQitemZ140174580269QQihZ004 QQcategoryZ76066QQcmdZViewItem

they are easy to store and dont leak.

BUT ... to use them they have to be unravelled all the way out. This is easy but do you want to be doing this every time you pull up next to a tap ?
No..... so cut a 4 metre length from your old hose, attach a clipper and use this small, manageable hose for when you can pull up right next to a tap.
I have used this all summer and its great.
Sorry if it was thought of already.
cheers, Skratt Very Happy

If its the same as mine I have found they are slow to fill being 3 small hard pipes in one.

They are also not food grade plastic so can leach tastes.

Apart from that they are easy to use and cheap.

there are several types, some are naff but this is good. Its a soft pipe, very light weight and easy to store.
I know the type you mean .... they are heavy and the water trickles out ...
this one is as fast as a normal hose.

But its not food grade ..... I dont use my fresh water tank for drinking anyway.

I just dont trust tap water. If you knew what was in it you would never drink a drop .... Confused

Hi Skratt
Thanks for that I just bought one, have been looking for one for ages for that price I ain't paying three times that amount for food grade, on the basis we boil water or buy bottled water don't see the point.

I got fed up of flat food grade hoses springing leaks, (mostly due to vans running over them while deployed) and with an RV it's not always easy or desirable to move to fill up a 350 lt tank, a watering can would be a joke.
Yes I know its a lot of water but what's the point of a having a shower and not using it properly, why compromise when living full time in a van..

My solution, two 30 mt reels of Hoselock tough anti kink hose..

It's not 'food grade' but all our drinking water is via a nature pure filter.. Wink
