We have the Oyster Vision and, until last September, it worked fine always locking-on within 2 or 3 mins. Now however it cannot find Astra 2. It always finds any of the other sats I ask it to but never Astra 2. I have had the software upgrade and refitted the box but still no luck. Any ideas please? Sad

Hi

My only suggestion would be to take the red fuse out and leave it out for a few minutes. The replace the red fuse and start afresh.

Otherwise, ask Robert Jackson - he installed mine and I don't think he would turn a customer away. His number is 07801 843332.

What box are you using and is it connected properly?? Some oysters require the sky box to be turned on so its getting the positive charge and correct transponder frequency to the lnb down the coax.

Thanks for all the suggestions but we've tried all the obvious. The software is the latest - upgraded last week! I'm told there is an issue with a new satellite but I don't know if this would affect it - it all seems a bit odd to me!

Hi,
I often have issues tuning into Astra 2. It just happens and sometimes drives me around the bend. I tune into Astra 1 when it happens and then Astra 2.
It has nothing to do with Sky box with me as I do not connect Sky till Astra 2 has loc ked on. I use receiver that came with the dish.
Try it and see, good luck

Steve

I also connect mine initially with the Sky Box off, but haven't used it for a while, so I'll check and see if this new satellite is having any effect.

Have you thought about buying a book, sod the tv, we use our camper to get away from all the tv stuff. Its strange but although we watch tv all night long at home we just don't think abou it when we are away, even on long trips. You might think we are being misserable but give it a try. you could even get a pack of card or play a game of something together. Trivial persuit, chess etc are also good. just try it and see how u get on. Oh, by the way, no tv might mean an early night too!
