Hi all
plan to leave UK for europe in 4 weeks, could be away for up to 1 year and still no health insurance - all companys say max 90 days per trip. does any one know how you get travel health insurance long term - will be skiing for first couple of months so would feel better if have cover - any ideas ?

I did a bit of research on this a while ago and it is a nightmare. We heard that backpackers insurance is the way to go but found that most still have limitations. We found one called Travel Nation www.travelnation.co.uk and www.roundtheworldinsurance.co.uk and ended up with them but I think we had to give them dates and then phone them if we overstayed.

Try googling long stay travel insurance - theres quite a few companies out there. Last time we used a company called Right Cover for our six month trip. They came in at quite a reasonable price, even covering some existing medical conditions.

Probably not the cheapest but camping and caravanning club do long stay cover up to 365 days. Under 65 years old Ģ170 over 65 Ģ243. hope this helps
