The above site has, in the past, been given some bad press on these pages. As a fairly frequent visitor to the site up until 2006 I would agree with the comments made and witnessed the decline myself over several years. However, whilst in Valkenburg just before Christmas, we decided to take a look at the site knowing that last year it came into new ownership. What a difference these new owners have made, they have obviously invested heavily in the facilities, providing a new reception building complete with restaurant and bar area and a new toilet and shower block, all of which were spotlessly clean and to a high standard. In 2008 the owners, Jan and Marja, plan to landscape the site and provide some hardstandings specifically for motorhomes.

Jan and Marja are a very friendly and helpful couple and although we were not at the time staying on their campsite, welcomed us and were only too happy to show us around. If you are thinking of visiting Valkenburg and the surrounding area I would not hesitate to recommend this campsite.

Thanks for that I have added it to my campsites file. We were in Aachen in December and deliberately didn't use that site because of it bad feed back.
