Just read this on a techie news website

Quote:
T-Mobile customers signing up to Web 'n Walk Plus (or Max) will get free access to the operator's 39,000 hot spots from January. So for £12.50 a month users can get 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and be allowed to use instant messaging too

T-Mobile is slowly becoming the operator of choice for mobile internet phone based access Smile

Hi Dave

T-Mobile is slowly becoming the operator of choice for mobile internet phone based access

Always has been in my opinion. I have been with T Mobile for over ten years, from the days they were one-to-one. I started using web and walk before T Mobile admitted to having it and it has consistantly proved the most reliable.

I am wildcamping on the In-Laws drive at the moment which is a tiny part of Hampshire with one road in and one road out but it was here in two/three years ago I started using them for internet access.

Nice addition about the wireless

The press release ends with:

"As the largest provider of public WiFi in the world, T-Mobile customers can also take advantage of 39,000 WiFi HotSpots across the globe."

and then just entering the name of a country, you will find one spot in France but loads (for example) in Spain.

Anyone got more details on this - does it mean all these are now free?

The press release also says

"Applies to all new customers of select web’n’walk tariffs from 1st January 2008"

So it looks like it doesn't apply to existing customers.

I've been on the CC site at Looe since before Christmas struggling with a poor signal, and today moved to a CL near Wellington (Somerset) with an equally poor one. Still having to hold the phone in the air to stay online Sad. I've almost forgotten how good T-Mobile usually is!
