My Oyster Digital CI was working fine.

Now there appears to be no power getting to the remote sensor next to the TV. I have checked the fuses behind the box and they are OK.

If I switch off the unit at the rear and leave it for a short while, when I switch back on the remote sensor shows signs of life for a few seconds then fades and dies.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

When you say remote sensor, do you mean the "magic eye?" That is the device that you point the remote at to change a sky channel, even though the sky receiver could be hidden away in a locker etc?

If it is the "magic eye" that Russell mentioned that is faulty try pointing your handheld remote control towards the actual digi box and see if you get any response that way? The button on our digi box lights up from red to green when the digi box is ready to function fully, so once it is showing the green light and providing there are no obstructions such as locker doors etc in view of the sensor on the digi box we can then change channels etc that way. I know those "magic eyes" are a bit sensitive as my best friend Annette has found that hers in her motorhome has stopped working and she only got her Oyster etc installed in her motorhome in October.

Good luck and hopefully if you are still having problems someone with more knowledge may come along and answer your post.

Sue

Hello again.

I'm not sure what it is called. It is the reciever that is located near the TV that you initially point the remote at to start the dish searching. It is not part of the TV..... that seems to work OK.

Hi Barry

Can you change channels using the remote control if you point the remote at the SKY receiver box?

If yes, you know your remote control is ok.

Somewhere near the TV, there will be a small thing called a magic eye. By pointing the remote control at the magic eye, you should be able to change channels etc. If that does not work, it suggests a fault with the magic eye. These can be bought in Woolies, Currys etc and are not very expensive.

Russell

Hi
Is it the sensor that you point the remote at to put the dish up and down?

Hi Barry does it look like this? (see photo below) If it does then that is the magic eye and to buy a replacement is approx £6.50 (copy & paste the following link) http://www.thedigiboxshop.com/sky-tv-link-products.html?gclid=COals4yP8ZACFQ9ZMAodxzcoqg

( below the digital receiver and remote).

I don't have sky..... so it is the Oyster free to air receiver.

I will serve the same purpose as the magic eye.

Hi
It is the sensor for putting the dish up and down and for changing.
You say you turn off and on and then it dies. Does that mean you can see some form of light at front and then no form of light? (Letters or Numbers)
Could you give us more info?

How long has it been fitted? How long have you had van?

Steve
