Why can't I attach an avatar? I go and choose one, submit it and then it disappears again.

Hi

A bit more info required, I think.

Are you choosing one of the standard MHF forum ones, or are you trying to upload one of your own?

I'll move this into "Website help"

Yes I was just starting with one from the gallery until I find something more appropriate - like a cheesey photo of my new MH when I get it Laughing

Okay, I just changed mine (as you can see). You go to your account info:

scroll to the bottom, select "Show Gallery", choose one of the pictures, and it says "avatar saved" or something. Job done.

Can't see the problem, TBH. Is this what you're doing?

Hi Mandi

Is the image too big? It can be no larger than 80 by 80 pixels, and some avatars on the web are bigger than this. You didn't say exactly where you were getting the image from so difficult to offer any more suggestions.

You did click on "Submit" I suppose? Daft question maybe, but I bet you wouldn't be the first who didn't notice the little button.

Hope this helps

Hi
Easiest way is copy any picture/photo to your pc, you must resize it to no more than 80 x 80.
Then left hand side panel go down to profile and click. Then go down page to browse button "click" that and find your picture/photo. Click submit, if your picture/photo is ok it will load into Avatar. If it does not look for error message near top of page and get back to us.

Steve

Hmm - strange. I've just tried it 'your' way, selected a different avatar, and it seemed to work - the avatar changed in the profile, but didn't change in the forum posts. Must be a bit of a bug or summat.

Never mind, you've done it now. When you want to upload your own avatar, look at the responses from the other two chaps in this thread. It's easy, once you know how, and understand the restrictions.

Okay, back to cheesy motorhome pic for me Wink

No offence intended to anyone who has a photo of their MH. I have a what I consider a cheesey photo of me on my motorbike on one of the bike forums I visit. Laughing
