Hi All

We are planning on going skiing in our motorhome (well on ski's, not in the motorhome of course) during half-term Feb 9th-17th I think. We are planning to go somewhere in France, don't know where as yet as we have never been skiing before. It will be me, the wife and our 9 year old daughter.

I would appreciate any advice regarding a good resort for beginners which won't take too long to get to, as we only have just over a week. Is there anyone else planning the same with their kids.

Also, I have posted a wanted ad for a set of external silverscreens for a 2004 Eura Mobil Integra, if anyone has a spare set they want to sell.

Thanks

Hi Blisters

We are also going skiing for the first time with our children during half term, but our half term is 15-22 Feb. We have chosen to go to Camping L'Escale in Le Grand Bornand. Seems to be a good campsite with good facilities (restaurant, bar, swimming pool etc). The motorhome meets skiing website is excellent for advice and also details some of the restorts.

Does it have to be France because Andorra is excellent for beginners. With an amazing ski school. Alpe d'Huez is also very good. They have an excellent ski school there too. I do recommend that you have lessions if you are skiing for the first time.

La Bresse is a lovely place with alot of beginner slopes. They also have an adventure type school for the kids when they want a day off from the slopes. We stayed there last year at the end of the season but still found some snow for the children to play in, they loved it there.

There is an Aire there and a couple of sites which we stayed on one of them from the ASCI book all within walking distance of the town. Not as far down as the others so less boredom for the children and more time in the snow.

We too are looking for snow in the half term holls, same dates as yours. We are going to the Harz mountains in Germany as we are going back to La Bresse with friends at Easter (non of us are skiers its just for the children to playing in the snow that they long for and don't often get over here).

Have a great time if you go, I am sure you will love it around that area.

take care
Mandy
