Evening all.

It's quite possible I'm being really, really dense here - but what exactly is the purpose of the ‹ Select › option on quotation boxes?

Now - before anyone thinks I'm really, really, really stupid - I do know what it does (it selects the quote) I just can't see the point of it!! It appears completely superfluous to me.

Perhaps I'm missing a trick on this one!

I would guess it is if you want to copy the text. Instead of having to click and hold and scroll over the text, you can highlight it instantly.

Much quicker.

Having said that - i hadn't noticed it before you pointed it out!

That would sound like an eminently sensible use for it - if I could think of a single reason why anyone would want to copy the text!!

I'm still baffled!! Confused

To respond to it maybe, especially if the post is way back in the past and not immediately above like now. Very Happy

Cheers

I must be thick also, because I don't know how to create the quotation box, with "xxxx wrote" in the first place.

I'm sure someone who takes pity, will enlighten me!

TR5
Top right hand corner of post is the 'Thank' button and the 'quote' button.
Use the 'quote' button and it will put that post at the start of your reply box.
Hope that explains it Smile

You get <Select> and <Expand>
In my opinion,
<Select>
To select the quote and use elsewhere
<Expand>
This Expands the whole Quote/Quotes
<Contract>
Shrinks Quote/Quotes
