Hi Frank just been down and had a gander in PC world, english keyboard 512mb and 4gig £249.00

Looks a nice little jobby, played with it for a bit until I set the alarms off Embarassed Probably get one in a few weeks.

Olley

Ask to see the battery Olley to check the size less than 2hrs on the small battery if on wifi.

I paid £20 less from Clove for full spec inc postage £229.01.

for Alison's around-the-house computer on wifi for email, surfing, instant messaging/ Skype & word processing (have a networked printer) and for the van when we're away.

But not until late May, when it should have the more efficient and more powerful Atom processor. Regrettably, when I'm in the States in May - £1 = $2 Smile - it won't yet have hit the streets Sad

Mine has been on order for a week or so after my supplier couldn't get the 8GB 700 series. Beware of US spec keyboard.

Looks like I'll have to wait until the end of June, and buy a UK one. But that looks like a nice spec. I'm also told you can get the XP one and swap the SSD for the bigger Linux one (silly way around just to keep pricing of the two variants the same).

Things are looking good, and competition hotting up. I may even have a decision to make between the Eee PC 901 and the MSI Wind, depending on the former's eventual pricing:

My eee PC 900 with Windows XP arrived this morning and first impressions are very favourable - I need it for typing up notes, writing the odd piece while away from home (which is where I work).

Didn't want the Linux one as I want a laptop that's as near identical to my desktop machine as possible, with the same OS and same applications (ie Office 2007 which is way better than its predecessaors, by the way). The keyboard seems fine for touch-typing, which is good news.

Haven't set up the wireless stuff yet, but when I do it could be ideal for use in the MH. Not so bothered about battery life as I'll rarely be unplugged for longer than a couple of hours.

My Eee 900 (with Linux) arrived yesterday the battery is charged and I'm going to switch it on shortly.

I will be swapping its battery with my 4G Eee as the higher consumption 900 only comes with the 4400mAh battery and my 4G has the 5200mAh one.

I can't believe if you have the choice you would pick microsoft over linux.

Hi bought a 4G Eee from PC world today, its got the smaller battery but I doubt that will effect me much.

Took it home and started to play Laughing first thing I found is that it doesn't seem to like WPA encryption on the wi-fi, went on an Eee forum and it seems a common problem, luckily with a very simply work around. Very Happy

Another problem? is it will not recognise my 150G USB portable disk, but does see the 4G USB stick, had to leave it to go to work but their was something in the manual about this.
