OK Olley you are now off topic as indeed Dave is (lots of times) and Gerald is (a moderator for shame) This is a Linux thread

I got me one of them EEE pc thingys back in February, cracking little machine, does pretty much anything I throw at it, I've also been a mac user for years and have recently had to get a windows laptop for work, what a pile of poo, within 15 minutes of starting up my new Dell Vostro---THE BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH---.
Never had a problem in 4 years on my trusty ibook, or the new eee, linux and osX, leagues better in my book.

As the Eee PC has to take credit for a recent surge in interest of Linux, especially for those who have so far escaped its charms, I thought I was on topic by keeping people appraised of the burgeoning competition for similar devices that were hitting the streets.
I'll stop, now I have had my on topic filter recalibrated.

For what its worth, I believe that the eee with webcam eats the bettery so if you got or getting one, make sure you know how to turn the cam off when not in use !
