Hi Folks, I'm sure i'm going to bog down the host's servers with questions and friendly input in the course of the near future, however, I have something bugging me.

In my MH ( two days old ), behind the front passenger seat above the dinette is the 'cupboard' for the TV, with roller front cover; one of those up and over roller shutters, in grey plastic. The TV/DVD/Freeview LCD which I would like is a 15" version and though it would fit width-wise, it would be about an inch too tall to swing or slide out of the opening on a bracket. The bottom tip of the roller shutter is stopping the top of the screen when the roller shutter is fully UP. Hope you can picture what I mean.

What I'm wondering if anyone esle has done is....has anyone ever cut off the bottom couple of inches of this plastic roller shutter, in the recess, to enable the whole thing to slide up, over and down the back a bit further, thus allowing the screen the freedon to escape the front opening.

I would love to hear from anyone who has a Roller Team autoroller 700, or similar.

Many thanks,
Mark.

Hi, I am not going to be much help but just thought I would say hello as we have an Autoroller 600G, and the exact same cupboard arrangement as you do for the TV.

But thats as much use as I am, we banned TV's from the van so ours is used as an excellent storage cupboard for teenagers many clothes. It sounds a bit harsh saying it was banned but we rarely get to talk to each other as a family at home so when we are away we play games and chat its one of the things I love most about being in the van. Our house is full of all the usual gadgets TV's, playstations, sky + etc , plus of course computers and laptops so it is nice to escape from it all once in a while.

I can't see a problem with fixing the roller to go further back as long as it doesn't catch on the socket inside the cupboard.

Think you will find many of the CI''s will also have this arrangement of cupboard so one of their owners may have an idea too.

Mandy

Hi Mark, sorry can't help with your dilemma as ours is an Adria and we took out the platform for the TV as like Mandy, we do not use it in the MH. We put the cupboard to much better use - wine and spirit bottles and glasses and take a portable computer to show DVDs on. Most of the DVDs are copies made at home of TV series we don't get a chance to see at home.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to help you out.

Happy travelling

Sue

HI, thanks to both of you for your responses. Hmm, it was a tough choice.....space for some winter woollies or space for a single malt and a cognac??? Laughing

I think I've found a compromise by finding a slightly smaller LCD screen at 15" but with less surround casing so it ought to fit nicely.

Fingers crossed !
