We wondered if there was much there, as we came by on the way home today and couldn't really see anything. Had thought to visit tomorrow afternoon, but it doesn't sound very worth while.
Happy Travelling

Very disappointed, in & out within a hour, brought nothing!
Have to say we totally agree with dinger. We had nothing better to do today so we decided to take a nose. Very poor show indeed. Entry was priced at £5 per adult (£4 for OAP) which we considered to be poor value in comparison to the National at Peterborough.
Like dinger we were not there very long before we left to spent the rest of the day enjoying Whitstable.
Never mind it got us out of the house!

Come down the A21 and have a free hamburger or hot dog on us then, plenty of parking but watch out for the speed cameras (30mph)

We went in at 10.15hrs and could have been out at 11.00hrs but stayed a little longer. Not much to see and little accesories.
Was a day out though only our motorhome is empty due to the last timewasters, so couldn't sit outside.
I don't think we'll visit again

Hi All
After reading the reports on here I must agree, it was a lets say a very small show. We and some friends stayed for the weekend £45 with EHU and only 45 mins from home, I think a weekend away is what you make it we had a great time BBQs few beers and a walk round the show and sunshine, But I had a chat with a steward before leaving he said they have already booked the show ground for next year and assured me it would be a bigger show. I think the only way these shows grow is by people going and we dont get too many in our corner so we will be there. Shame we missed JCM open weekend though.

I agree - it was a small show but a good first attempt. It's nice to have another motorhome focused show.I'm sure that Warners and Stone Leisure started small and if these guys (Appletree) get some support then we could have lots more choice of venues.

I visited on the Sunday as we were only along the road staying with the East Kent Group of the C&CC at Stockbury.
I personally though it was quite good for a first attempt by the new company to hold a show in Kent. There was a predominence of Motorhome dealers there including Brownhills from Chartham, TC Motors from Broadstairs, Discovery (previously Barrons) from Herne Bay, BCS MotorHomes from Herne Bay and Kent Kampers from Charing, near Ashford. Between them they were exhibiting a large collection of both new and second hand vans on show.
Admittedly this show was not on a par with those held at Shepton Mallet and the like but for a potential local prospective purchaser there was a good selection of local dealers to choose from.
Talking with the St John Ambulance man at the show we were told that the same organisers had staged a 'Homes' show at the same site in February. This was apparently packed with exhibitors so perhaps next year the caravan and motorhome show will see an increase in size.
Personally Peter (JCM) I feel that you have missed out as looking at the competition that was at the show. How many of the exhibitors there have such a following as you do from the MHF fraternity who obviously know a good thing when they see one!
I came home with a set of 3 superb knives (£30) and 2 folding tables for £15. My son-in-law bought some shoe cleaning/ waterproofing polish and some multipurpose cleaner-wonder just what he is going to use that for?!

Hi Invicta,
The date clashed with our Bank Holiday Barbeque with free hotdogs and hamburgers.
We never take MH's to shows as the logistics and costs of getting them there and back are horrendous plus the loss of staff at our dealership.
We had an excellent weekend back at base, sold 4 MHs and a lot of Fiamma and accessories and raised £180 for our local hospice in donations from the barbeque.
Next show is Newbury where we will be running the Fiamma stand as usual.
Regards
Peter
