There is an interesting article in this months - March issue - of the Motor Caravan Magazine on what insurance companies offer in a very useful guide. It lists named insurance companies - what they cover, excesses, mileage restrictions, EU travel etc etc. It opened my eyes as to what the various companies offer, and the price variance,
As I am in the market for insurance it will certainly make my job easier and hopefully save me some money too:D

Hi Colin
It seems one of the main topics at the moment, if you are looking for insurance don't miss the Caravan Club also recovery through them
Best Regards

Agree with broom
used caravan club for the last 2 years
checked out other companies and they still came up cheapest
I prefer the caravan and camping club for breakdown cover (rac)
Tried online quote with C&C club and they never got back to me though

I have just read the article again and believe it or not Saga Insurance came out consistently well in most categories. Of the three main and detailed categories reviewed they were top in two classes and second in the third. The top two were for Best Deal For Money , first in Personal Effect and Equipment Cover and lastly second in Best Insurance Cover for high usage and travelling abroad.
Surprised me - I have car insurance with them so I will ask for a further discount - you can only ask

| Insurance, in law and economics, is a form of risk management primarily used to hedge against the risk of a contingent loss. Insurance is defined as the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss, from one entity to another, in exchange for a premium. An insurer is a company selling the insurance. The insurance rate is a factor used to determine the amount, called the premium, to be charged for a certain amount of insurance coverage. Risk management, the practice of appraising and controlling risk, has evolved as a discrete field of study and practice. |
