L'Ampolla looks interesting. That place isn't a fuel station as far as I know - they sell micro cars. however I did notice they were putting a number of new signs up outside as I passed the other day so I guess they must be diversifying.
Shall take a closer look sometime.
I am in Spain at the moment. Good LPG garage at Molinos Marfagones on N332 driving NW from Cartagena on the Mazarron road. It is called "Buenos Aires" garage and the LPG is at the back. It is a bit of a manouevre to get in but I managed easily it with a 8m van. They are very helpful and bring a box of adaptors when they come to serve you in case you haven't got the right one. I filled up twice in 2 weeks (the second time was yesterday) as it is cold at night in Spain at the moment. 17litres cost me about 13 euros. This garage is handy for those based at La Manga and Puerto de Mazarron. Coordinates are N37.63481, W1.05878 and it is easy to find as you drive NW out of Molinos Marfargones - can't miss it! I have attached pics if it helps.

Had reason to fill up LPG in Barcelona and chose the Sant Adria De Besos filling station. However found the satnav was taking me across a dual carriageway to a Repsol site which had no LPG. Noticed another station across the road who directed me to a third garage which did sell the elusive LPG.
I am sure it is the site featured in the "All the Aires Spain and Portugal" book but is now a 'Galp' garage (not Agip) and according to my satnav has coordinates of 41.4274056 and 2.2105800. - Not a 100m from where the book was taking me.
There are two pumps with different nozels required - one the french/italian adapter the other I think is called a straight connector.
The very helpful sales assistant had the french/italian adapter at the checkout and actually came out and hooked me up.
