hi just got this info of another site.

The FFCC (Fédération française de camping et de caravaning), has come up with a scheme called “Stop Accueil camping-car” it provides, subject to availability, for one night only for two people and their motorhome to stay on 520 campsites across France. The scheme provides for toilet emptying and waste water disposal, plus fresh water fill, within the charge. Electricity at the normal per night rate if available/required. Additional passengers are €1 each, children under 7 free. Arrival to be between 18:00 and 22:00, with departure before 10:00 the next day. If you want to extend your stay, subsequent days will be charged at the normal tariff for the season.

Charges depend on the locally allocated star rating of the site. For one and two star sites it is €8 max; for three star sites, €10 max; and for four star sites, €13 max. Local Taxe de séjour will be charged extra.

The details of the contributing sites may be downloaded in PDF form, from the FFCC website via this link (in French only):

You’ll also need access to a map showing the French departmental names or numbers to make sense of the distribution of the sites.

Sounds similar to the ASCI scheme but I don't think you have to join.

Hi pete, pipped at the post by about 10 months then, Laughing sounds good if you don't have to join anything. I have downloaded the PDF and saved it, think I will print it out and put it in the van.

I'm fairly sure its an updated version Tel, if you look at the site listings, they seem to include availability dates for 2008.

Take your point, most municipals/aires probably/definately are cheaper, but imo this scheme gives you another option when you're on the lookout for a quick overnighter.
