Does anyone know of a Freeview 12V receiver which has a built in modulator. The TV in my motorhome doesn't have a scart socket and anyway a modulated output is going to be easier to connect

It may be easier to buy a seperate RF modulator to change scart/composite signal into RF, then get yourself a 12v freeview box. OR Buy yourself a new up to date 12/240v TV with freeview built in.
I have a modulator but its comparatively bulky and anyway the easiest answer is a pass through RF if the freeview box has a modulator its straight forward and easy to install. The motorhome came complete with the analogue TV and my wife isn't going to be impressed if I get a new TV just a week after delivery
If I can't find a freeview receiver with a modulator I'll use a scart to AV lead as suggested but I had intended to put another TV in the sleeping area and it could use the same modulated output from a freeview receiver via a splitter.
My best answer is still a 12V freeview receiver if there is such a thing as one with a modulator built in.

The box that we developed for the Digital Switchover Help Scheme in Whitehaven would suit you as it has a 5V input and has modulated output. Unfortunately, the box was never released for general sale.
It might be worth searching Ebay for it. The model is the LOGIK LDRV3. It was made by TVonics.

Thanks, I'd checked the TVonics site and they have 3 models with modulators but in each case the external power supply is 5.3V and I really want one to run off 12V to minimise the need for external boxes.
At the moment its going to be a 12V Freeview and Scart to Phono unless anyone can come up with a 12V model with modulator

The 5V power supply is the easy one to solve and will not be any more bulky than the 12V. All you need to do is go to Halfords or Maplins and buy a multi-voltage adaptor to fit your cigarette lighter socket. Hey presto you have the adaptor to suit and one to do all sorts of other jobs. I consider this to be essential MH equipment.
BTW if you don't have a 12V cigarrette lighter socket that you want to use there are plenty of adaptor leads to fit your 12V socket.
The 5V TVonics units are very low current consumption, in fact TVonics are the only manufacturers whose full product range already exceeds the 2010 Energy Saving Trust requirements.

Am I in the same boat here? I've just taken delivery of a FTA 12v receiver (SL65/12) which has separate scart outputs for TV and video, but no aerial out. It also has 'IF out' which is the same threaded connector as the 'LNB in'. Finally, there are three phonos - two for the standard left/right audio outs, plus one marked 'COAXIAL'
My new compact 9" LCD (intended for the motorhome) has no scart input, relying on ye olde fashioned aerial input, plus a separate A/V socket.
Am I knackered in terms of an easy connection from this particular receiver to the scart-less telly?

The AV lead for your new telly is possibly a 3 contact 3.5mm jack one end and three phonos the other. All you need is a Scart to 3 phono (Red, White and Yellow) lead. Flick the switch on the scart plug to Out and Hey presto, you have an AV lead to fit the telly.

I have been using a freeview 12v box similar to this ebay item-- Item number: 190199940864. I have used it for some years now and it gives great results. In fact it is better than my Fortec Star for reception.
