cornwall in summer; to book or not to book Forums

We have a week in cornwall end of July, meeting up with him outdoors who is cycling from john o groats. We will probably only want a night or two in any one place, and would prefer to be a bit flexible. I'm thinking we will probably need to book in advance, what do you reckon?

End of July must be about the busiest period..

roads will be busy too, plus lots of granite walls lining them..

I would definitely book in the school holidays,it's peak season very busy, and I wouldn't like to be turned away from a full site on those narrow roads trying to find an alternative site.
