2008 Photographer of the year comp

Do the photographs have to be taken in the month of the competition they are entering? If not that would make it more interesting. Hard to check im sure but trust is a virtue

No they do, not even the round 5) July - 2008 - a photograph that typifies 2008 the pic does not need to have been taken in 2008 but it needs to say "This is 2008".

Hi can we have some guidance on size please stew. I've been shooting in RAW and TIF lately and have some very big files presumably there is no need to submit anything bigger than is being viewed on screen or do you intend to print them out to judge them?

ok thanks stew, just thought it would be better if it was, so people used new photos and not choosing from extensive back catalogues they may have. I have to add im a point and shoot guy but thought id have a go at this this year

We will be judging from the screen Frank so no need to send big files. However we will be inviting the winners to send us a big file so we can print them out to form an exhibition that will go on display at the shows and main rallies that MHF attends. Thanks for checking

As this is new to me could you please tell me how and where I can send my entries? And if the pics are to be downloaded by you to judge - what data size will you require?

There will be a new album created and all instructions posted. No photographs will be downloaded without the photographers permission. Judging will be done by looking at the MHF albums

I understood that a panel would judge the monthly entries....if so why is there a voting option with the images?

Perhaps I missed the point ??
