In the recent high winds, the van rocked like a ship. If I had corner steadies fitted, would the van still rock, given that steadies are at the rear only?
Also, as the wind hits my van, the movement of the van absorbs some of the force of the wind within the rocking motion. If the van was stuck rigid, it is at more risk of wind damage? Elaborates by saying that Blackpool Tower is not rigid and moves a few inches in high winds. If it was rigid, would it snap?

We have corner steadies but rarely use them except if we are stopping in one place for a week or so.Even when they are down the van will still rock in high winds, not as much though.I don't think they are worth bothering with really.

Thanks for that. I suppose it does away with the theory of "if the motorhome's rocking, there's no point knocking!"

I do use my steadies most of the time, and yes they do help in the wind, but you still get movement so wouldn`t worry about the thing being to rigid, cos it wont be.
Even if the kids are restless in the overcab bed,you can feel movement at the back of the van.

Got them on the Hymer (Fiat Based) but have never used them as the chassis is pretty solid ie no bounce. Now my mate had a Merc based Hymer and he used his as his chassis was prone to bouncing.
