Stormy,

if you have the full setup at home ie movies & sport you need to get a 2nd card from sky. This will cost an extra £10 p/m.

Hope this answers your question.
Have a great new year.

You can only make use of the £10.00 subscription (the mirror subscription) when you contract to keep both boxes connected to the telephone at all times.
Taking one box away in the van will result eventually in you being charged the full subscription for BOTH boxes after Sky has checked and found it missing.

I have had only one card and a digibox at home and another in my van..
When we are away in the motorhome, I take my Sky contract tel no & card with me.
When we arrive at our 1st site i install the card in the vans digidbox and call sky...I ask them to pair the card with my vans digibox, after answering a few questions its working....I have been doing this for about 14 months without problem....
Only once did a sky person say they could'nt do it, I asked for their manager and they paired it straight away.
Remember you have to do the same when you get back home

We have the Oyster twin LNB in our motorhome with a separate Sky plus digi box to the one in our house. We have a mirror viewing Sky plus card (cost us an extra £10 per month) for the 2nd Sky plus box and we just have the motohome's digi box plugged into a telephone extension line. Our motorhome goes into storage when not being used so we just take the Sky plus digi box out and just plug it into the telephone extension cable at home, we don't connect it up to a dish or anything we simply plug it straight into the mains and the telephone extension. One of the conditions of the mirror card is that you have to have both digi boxes connected to a phone line at all times. This way you do comply with that and if you ring Sky when you are going away and explain that because you are on holiday you are switching all your electrical equipment off for safety purposes this will then explain why both digi boxes are disconnected from the telehone line for that period. We do this and have no problems and we also get our full package including movie and sports whilst we are away in our motorhome. We could take the digi box from home with us every time but because it is a nightmare to unplug all the scarts and cables etc, what with dvd recorder, video recorder, digi box, surround sound etc etc it would be a nightmare every time and the TV is far too heavy to move in order to get around the back easily - so we opted for a 2nd digi box for the motorhome and it makes life a lot easier plus if my daughter is at home from university means she can still view Sky.
I rang Sky and complained that I pay all this money each month and then cannot use my card to get my full package when away in our motorhome and pushed the point that I should have the right to view what I have subscribed to and are paying for in my own motorhome. I mean you can buy all this mobile satellite equipment for motorhomes, boats and caravans etc and then Sky wont allow you to view what you are paying for! Let's face it, if we are away for a fortnight we are paying for something we cannot use at home but could use elsewhere. Surely we should have the right to do that if that's what we choose to do? They then offered me the option of using my second viewing card on a pay to use basis which basically meant if we were going away to ring them when we were going and they would marry the viewing card up to our digi box in the motorhome and then just charge us for the period we were away. I think this did away with the having to have the second box connected to a telephone rule, but was not quite sure about that really. Anyway, when we worked it all out it was quite an expensive way of doing it and if you take your motorhome out a lot this could work out very costly. It turns out that this would be in addition to our monthly subscription and the £10 extra we were already paying for the mirror card - so we thought better of it! We chose to stick to the £10 per month mirror card and just take the risk of Sky cottoning on.
I think Sky are very greedy, because we are already paying them £52 per month and I think if you own a caravan or motorhome, you should be able to be free to use your card in any sky equipment you have in your own vehicles. I know this could be open to abuse but surely if you could prove to Sky in some way that you do own such vehicles then this could prevent any misuse!

Laughing That's why we don't bother with SKY. We have a Dutch Digital system on Astra 1 that costs us nothing and we can watch around 60% of the programs in English. Wink

Laughing We are on our third Dutch system. The first was when it was on Analogue. The second was digital but only lasted 18 months. Our third was given to us by our Dutch friends and will work until it breaks down. You can subscribe to a Dutch system. But obviously that costs money. Wink
