Take decent maps of places intending to visit and DO NOT rely on GPS to get you to the place.
The lanes and bridges may not accomodate your vehicle.

When you are picking up your van, whether brand new from the dealer, or second hand, video the hand over, you always forget what does what when you use it for the first time.

Also you can video any faults you find and the response of the salesman about when they will fix it!!!!!

If you've got steadies link the handle through the steering wheel as a reminder to use it before moving off Rolling Eyes

This is a good tip,. but instead of putting the handle through the steering wheel with the chance of scratching or doing some damage to the dash board.

Make yourself a nice picture of the m/h (or anything) about 6" square with check around outside before moving off in big bold lettering, get it laminated and stick that in the dail console so that you are looking at it as you are sat in the driving seat, much nicer than a lump of metal stuck in the wheel.

Buy a nice set of table and chairs for when the sun eventually shines and make sure you always have a good supply of cold beer/wine to enjoy whilst you are sat relaxing in them Very Happy

As a quick check we do a count of all the things to check, step in, cupboards locked, etc.

Only trouble is we keep forgetting whether its 13 or 16 things we have to check.

Confused

After having a short in one of the habitation lights over the easter break, and it blowing a fuse, my recommendation would be to carry variety of spare fuses.

Easy - learning from his mistakes.

Keep some rags in the back with your water hose etc, some places get really muddy and your pipe gets all cacky, while rolling it back up clean it while it's still wet.

Disposable gloves as well - some people are really mucky...

oh and I tin of casoulet for emergencies.

Annie
