hji got a fiat 644 1991 h redg just been out to start it up as i havnt driven it for a few week or two and nothing, not even a moan.
all lights etc on dash ok and batteries all powered. i know little about mechanics( my car is an old beetle,) the van is fitted with an imobiliser and seems to switch off ok. i am stuck any help would be greatly appriciated

If it has been OK before and as you say has been stood for a while then I would suspect the battery. Whilst all the lights may come on it will take an awful lot more power to actually turn over the engine and diesels require much more power than the equivalent size petrol engine.

Have you got a battery charger that you can connect up overnight?

Failing that you may be able to charge the battery from the electric hook-up. Not being familiar with your model I cannot say for certain but many will charge this way. You need to be connected up and turn on the circuit breakers and switch the control panel to vehicle (or car) battery.

exact same thing happened to our N reg 644 t'other week.
starter was clogged up with carbon from the brushes, yet it had started 2 days previously Evil or Very Mad
