Well I have to say my gast is well & truly flabbered!

We've decided to hit France this July for a couple of weeks, as posted on a previous topic by myself, and also go back to an old haunt Camping Jungfrau in Switzerland.

So I thought I'd get in there earlyish & book a ferry, giving me plenty of time to save up to pay, fully expecting a couple of hundred of quid.

So i go onto the CC & C&CC sites to get fares, & onto P&O and SeaFrance, put in my travel dates etc - to say I'm shocked at the cost is an understatement.
Eventually booked SeaFrance, after luckily a noticing a post mentioning the 5% discount to MHF peeps (& it is a real discount - I priced it with & without the code!).

So we sail out Friday 7pm, meaning we stay at Calais for the night (I'd better to be able to park after reading all the stuff on here saying you can!! Shocked ) & can crack off early Sat morning & sail back Sat morning, giving us plenty of time for a leisurely drive back home for the bargain price of £74.24!!!!

I honestly can't believe how reasonable this is - i even put the length of the van at 7m to allow for the bike rack (which we haven't got yet!). AND got the 5% MHF discount too - more cash for wine when we're over there!

yes, silly prices. let's hope they get the strike settled by then! (or even next Friday when we are due to travel)
And there should be no problem parking up for the night, either on the aire or in the parking areas on the docks. Bear in mind both may be a bit noisy. If you go to the aire, try the restaurant to the left of the entrance

Was that my post?

Good luck with the trip. The lowest I have got it down to for a 7m is just under £48.

Trev.

CHEAP!!!!!!!!
It is a big rip off. We went in and only had the starter. Don't buy the wine as it is so expensive I would have wanted a bath full for the price.
It is not often I get ripped off but we were in this place.
