I am reposting this in hopefully the correct place, as I hadn't realised which sub-forum was in before, so here goes again....
I know this is an old topic, and the guy selling on ebay is still selling them, so I have marked the link....
BUT my question is this.... can anyone advise me please
We have as many will by now know, a Rapido 7090 on order, which should be ready for collection next month in Germany.
I had asked the dealer to see if they could get UK lights and speedo added at build, but he has been unable to get this done.... so...we will need to convert the speedo to conform, and as they seem to be checking it is better we are forearmed

Any information would be gratefully received. I am trying to get prepared, as we would like to get it on the road as quick as possible once we get it back, as we need to fit alarm and gas tank, and until DVLA issue us with the number plates (well we know it as we kept our old one) but until they tell us we can legally put it on, we are stuck.

Not sure you need to conform to anything regarding the speedo, for MOT I'm certain all it says is you must have a working speedo, doesnt mention what the marks are. We certainly didnt change our speedo from KPH to MPH. If you want to see the usual MPH suspects are, i.e. 20,50,60,70. then work out the calculation ( I have to take my socks off to count to 20) then either mark the speedo with tippex or similar, but you can, I'm sure, buy small dot like things from motorcycle dealers that I used on a continental import bike.
Someone with more detailed knowledge than me will no doubt correct me tho'

There is doubt or confusion about the law regarding metric/imperial reading speedometers.
Speedometers must be marked in MPH and readable in the dark, you are getting confused with the MOT. The speedometer is NOT included in the MOT test - but is still compulsory. See the following extract from DOT requirements for imported motorhomes and ambulances:
Imperial Speedometer
Great Britain uses imperial units for speed measurement. The law requires that speedometers must include a miles-per-hour display. Please note in particular that any modified display must be visible in daylight and in darkness.
Markings may be added to the existing speedometer provided they are:
* accurate;
* durable;
* can be seen clearly in daylight and when the instrument is lit during darkness.

Bandaid, we had a LHD Hymer I had imported and it had 3 MOT's whilst we had it, and no it wasn't a problem THEN....
BUT it is now.... apparently new vehicles have to conform and they are beginning to call them in to the local office to see them...hence my question...

Yes I know that, and we are used to driving with a kmh speedo, BUT, that isn't any good, and in another forum here, Knaus, others have been having the problem...so I need to find out asap about a replacement - or a stick-on that actually fits on this model.
If anyone is able to take a photo of their speedo and post it I would be grateful, at least I would know what I was looking for....at the moment, I don't know at all what it looks like, as at the time of purchase in September, I didn't even worry about it or recall looking.

Ken, thanks, that is my understanding.... and from links found on other forums and google, and from a friend, I have located several different options, but am uncertain which was to go. The other links sent me, stipulate Ducato 2002 onwards, but that obviously isn't the new model, so I have contacted them today via email for help and advice, but was rather hoping someone on here, had already done it on this model....

We've had similar problems before and one thing I would look out for is whether the "stick-on" MPH thingies are legal. The ones I have seen are not illuminated from the back so would need a front illumination added to be legal.
