Hi All, Very Happy
I propose a weekly sharing of info re what are the best offers available for decent wine.
With a maximum price of £4.50 ok £5.00( only if it is exceptional) per bottle

My vote is Safeways 'French Connection' Reserve Chardonnay it is Mmmm.
Also what to steer clear of,
My Vote is Blossom Hill 2005 Chardonnay blech

Add to the thread and share with others
Very Happy

Tesco's Cuvee Prestige. (Vin de pays de L'Herault)

Very soft and smooth but full bodied too.

I agree with MandyandDave, Blossom Hill has gone right off recently, and I wouldn't clean the truck with their "Special Reserve".

Anything drinkable from ASDA at three for a tenner. Sometimes there are bottles at £8 each included in the deal.

Brilliant idea. The only problem being the thread getting burried in all the traffic round here.

Aldi are doing a 3 litre box of French Shiraz, £10.99 it's pretty good and goes nicely with cheese or on it's own or with pasta or on it's own or with any thing else or on it's own Embarassed I can make one last all day if I'm careful Embarassed

Our regular quaffing wines are Vin De Pays de l'Herault -£3.99 from Lidl-for a LITRE bottle, and Asda's French House Red-3 litre box for £9.74 Both very nice. Incidentally, the Lidl Herault is also available in white and also quite acceptable.
