We've got 2 down duvets each ( singles). One is 8.5 tog and the other 4 tog. Singly they are fine for mild winter use and summer use respectively, together in the same cover they are great for the coldest night.

Being pure down they can be rolled up to practically no space at all. The thinnest ones came from Tschibo and the thickest ones via Amazon. Both are Swedish made.

Underneath we are currently trialling down and feather mattress toppers in a sheet sleeping bag cover.

Hi ozwhit;

We use the same quilt (not sure of the tog rating) all year round. We do however keep the heating on low all night, especially in alpine conditions. In the unlikely event of waking up cold in the middle of the night we keep a fleece throw rolled up on the shelf above the bed just in case. Never used it yet.

Hi ozwhit,

We recently purchased two Snoozy Wraps from

.

They quote "With its ingenious design the snoozy wrap has a 10.5 tog and a 4.5 tog duvet coupled together to form an all seasons interchangeable solution. It has a removable inner liner and an outer cover which we can offer in a variety of colours to match your decor"

All I can say is that we found them to be excellent - you have the option of having the thicker of the two on top in the winter and the lighter of the two in the summer.

Jonic also offer fitted sheets, memory foam toppers, shaped mattress protectors, shaped duvets, shaped duvet covers and towels with caravan / motohome logos for all popular makes of motorhome.

The most sensible method I've heard of was, to use one thick duvet and one thin duvet. If it is cold put the thick one on top and sleep on the thin one. If it is warm, put the the thin one on top and the thick one underneath.
BTW if you have a feather/down duvet, dry cleaners who do a duvet service can top it up for you to make a super luxurious duvet. I have one at home which due to 'global warming' I haven't used for a couple of years as its too warm.

We use one of those dual down and feather duvets - in theory the 4.5 rating for the summer, 9.5 for autumn and spring and both together for winter. In practice the 14 tog has never been used as the 9.5 is plenty warm enough even in Edinburgh in the winter! We do have the heating on low though.

Have the same system at home.

Underneath is a big articificial fibre duvet bought as an extra in a French Supermarket. Still too good to replace with a natural fibre one.

Hi

I would have thought that keeping the heating on was the answer.

Out of interest, I keep the heating on all night, every night on the thermostat. Does anyone else do this, or am I just soft?
