Hi all

The ones I would like to know about are those which sit permanently on the roof and are twiddled from a pole in the wardrobe. Rolling Eyes

I know there are several models available, and some are quite expensive. I would like to get Freeview in poor reception areas, which is often where campsites are situated. Evil or Very Mad

Any recommendations for make, model etc. would be much appreciated - or if they are not much good I would be even more pleased to hear that before I prise open the rusted hinges of the old wallet. Wink

Thanks

Hi Zeb

Yes, worth it. We've got a Status 530, and it works pretty well.

We have one on the Hymer. It's a factory fitted one and is brilliant. A lot better than a status omni directional one. Just remember to pull it down when you set off.

Hi Dave

The Status directional aerial beats the omni-directional hands down-no contest. We have the Status 530/5 which has about 20ins of the pole in the wardrobe. An easy task to jiggle it around to get a good picture.

Good for Freeview- highly recommended

An omni-diretional aerial does just that, it picks up signals from all directions. So, if there is a weak signal from another transmitter that can be seen by your omni-directional it will find it. Your TV will not be able to interpret the signal correctly and therefore any digital signal is likely to be corrupted.
An omni-directional also does not have the receiving strength of a directional unit.

Looks similar to ST530 but electric tilt and much cheaper.

I've asked for more information.

I can't find it anywhere else using Google.

from Nuke's Emporium is so much cheaper than the Status ones, for example?

It must be inferior (sorry boss) at that price - or you pay a lot for the name with Status????

My sister highly recommends the status aerials - but she would - she has made the component board on the inside of every status aerial manufactured in the last 15 years Very Happy

Only trouble is she cant get cheap samples Sad
