There's a very handy photo resizer XP PowerToy. (assuming you use XP). It just sticks a "Resize Pictures" option in the context menu (right click of mouse), so no need to wait for an application to load etc.

To do multiple, just highlight multiple photos in the explorer window, as normal.

Go to microsoft.com and search on "xp powertoys".

Alt-Tab switcher is a handy one too. Gives you little mini windows to alt-tab through to ensure you have the right one.

Plus... TweakUI, RAW thumbnailer and ClearType tuner are must haves in my opinion.

EDIT:
XP PowerToys

There is a Batch resize in Photoshop CS but not sure if it is in Elements - ..

You are a wonderful lot. Thank you all very much.

I've found the place in Photoshop: File - Automate- Batch and then a fill-in-the-blanks window.

I'm just going to make copies of all the photos and then try it.

Thanks again...this has saved hours of work - and aggro too.

Later: I'm sitting here with a silly grin on my face ! Type in the specs, press OK and they flashed past, resized and even went to the folder I'd specified on the desktop. I am soo...grateful ! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
