It is interesting to note that MIO have removed all references/ POI of speed cameras in Switzerland, Germany and Austria from their SATNAV speed camera update service. They quote legal advice from those countries.

Only Elbino understood what my question was about; it was nothing to do with finding the speed cameras it was all about what could happen if the French police saw my Garmin 310 satnav in my windscreen, stopped me and said it was illegal
Although it isn't actually illegal it is very difficult to have a chat about the legality of it in a foreign language
What I wanted was a document in French that explained the legality of it so that I could show the police and move on
I'm sure that there was a mention of such a document somewhere in MHF in the past; I just can't find it!
