MHF Regional Rally Coordinators

In order to increase the rally activity and attract new blood and to take some of the workload off the existing two main rally staff who are now being swamped with work, I have decided (after consultation with the existing rally staff) to expand by appointing Regional Rally Coordinators (RRCs) as a second tier under the existing Rally Coordinator and Rally Secretary.

These will be regional and one each will cover the following regions:

Northern Ireland

Southern Ireland

Scotland

North West (Cumberland / West Morland / Lancashire / Cheshire)

North East (Northumberland / Durham / Yorkshire)

Eastern England (Suffolk / Norfolk / Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire / Huntingdonshire)

Wales

Central (Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire / Leicestershire / Warwickshire / Herefordshire / Shropshire / Worcestershire / Cheshire / Northamptonshire)

South West (Cornwall / Devon / Somerset / Dorset)

South (Wiltshire / Hampshire / Berkshire / Gloucestershire / Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire)

South East (Sussex / Surrey / Kent / Middlesex / Essex / Hertfordshire)

I am sure i will have overlooked some county above, but i used this map

these are the lines of demarkation, however this doesn't mean that one regional co-ordinator couldn't organise a rally over the line within reason

The existing Rally Organiser job will be dropped and the holders invited to take up a RRC role.

Existing Rally Assistants have been given first refusal on RRC posts

Anyone wishing to become a RRC should PM me to that effect.

I want this all discussed and finalised by the Peterborough Rally.

I have volunteers so far for the North East region and the East region. These will need assistants though Wink

Themed Rallys / Meets---------------------------

Again after consultation with the mhf staff we have decided to change the way the rally organiser lists and filters rallys and meets

You now have the options as follows for appending to the event:

Adults Only
Blogs
Cookery - Chinese
Cookery - Indian
Cookery - Italian
Dogs Not Allowed
Fishing
Foreign Travel
Fulltiming
Garage Sale
Gardening / Gardens
Insomniacs Only
Mobile Internet
Motorhome Maintenance
Naturism
Pets
Photography
Royal Horticultural Garden visit
Satellite TV
Wildcamping
Wildlife

the Insomniacs only is a special case in that these events would be for those who may prefer to stay up socialising later than others and as such these events are intended to be much more informal. By themeing in this way it prevents unrest where one group perhaps would prefer to go to bed early and rise with the beds for a walk, whereas another group intends to stay up late into the night and then not get out of bed until mid morning Wink

You know who you are Wink

Also by themeing we offer a topic of conversation and a common cause as such allowing for a combined social ocassion.

Is bed-walking a special event for Grockles then? Smile

As the stamp collector said, philately will get you nowhere. Maybe when I don't have stupid work to contend with, Stew.

Dougie.

Hi

Who is Phil Ately Dougie? I think the idea is that the organiser does not have to attend all the meets just organise/promote them. Zoe, how about if you did an area in conjunction with another member - co-organisers so to speak

He's the cousin of that Pole Vaulter mentioned in another thread (sadly no longer with us).

Dougie.

Just to make it a bit clearer the idea is to set up rallies in your chosen area and also to be in attendance at the rallies as we do need somebody in charge on the rally fields Laughing
