Hi my alarm keeps going off, it is fitted to a MK7 transit on Hymer van 572 and was fitted by Hymer UK last October.

Now I am unsure if it has done this from day one but I think not.

The alarm will go off and after I have re-set it the dash led readout says it is a door earth.

So as a process of elimination I spent the day de activating each door in turn to try and track down the offending door.

I was going to start with the cab doors but as the switches are rivetted on and I do not have a circuit diagram I decided to leave them till last.

Started with the habitation door and moved on to the garage doors in turn.

During this process what I did notice is that from aeming the alarm to it going off always takes 30 mins.

This strikes me as odd, and further leads mr to think the problem may have nothing to do with the doors.

For the life of me I cannot think of anything that is fitted that would cause this, even the radio auto turn off is an hour.

The only things electrical that I have fitted are reversing camera and Sterling B2B charger. Neither off which as far as I know have any kind of timing devices fitted.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem or any ideas as where to start looking?

All comments welcome.

Thanks

Pete

PS yes I will go back to the dealer but my nearest involves a 160 mile round trip.

...might seem silly, are the batteries OK? A low battery could cause a false alarm or the vent in the cab, close it off to recirculate the air, not a through draught.
