Nothing happened but if you were choosing a photo to frame or enter in a competition you might look for detail in both the lightest and darkest parts of the photo.
If you use the histogram on your camera then that shows this in a graphical way.

It's in Photoshop Badger, you burn to darken part of an image that is over exposed and you dodge to lighten when a part is under exposed EDIT or the other way around

We are down to the last few photographs el work of arts.
It has been so hard to get to this point and now it is interesting to note that we have a balanced set of judges. There are some who accept PS manipulation as part and parcel and those who don't.
Should have a result over the next couple of days dependent on the work and holidaying of a couple of judges
