Hi I’m Garry
After caravanning for a number of years, I decided to fulfil a childhood dream to turn a bus into a motor home.
I bought an Optare Delta bus;
This is an invitation to view the site and watch its progress as I work to get it up to the way we want it.
There is also a blog where comments and advice is much appreciated; I will be updating this regular as each part starts taking shape.
Hope you share in this enthusiasm.

Garry

May I welcome you to the forum and offer you my best wishes in your project. I am green with envy - I don't mind admitting it.

Is it a DAF or a Cummins power unit?

I shall be following your progress closely.

Russell

Ex-British Airways? There wasn't a suitcase in it by any chance Laughing
Do you have enough ground clearance and is the width okay for our roads. Apart from that you are living my dream, always wanted to do that.

Hi Gary,

What an excellent challenge, it will certainly be very rewarding when you finish and embark on a trip and celebrate with a nice bottle of wine. Look forward to the progress.

Regards Joe

Hi garryb
As an ex bus/coachdriver you are living a dream that many of us had.

However I would echo previous thoughts-you have a tremendous front overhang there, and a goodly back one too.

Having grounded many times, and also struggled to get off ferries even with adjustable air suspension, please do bear this in mind.

Forgive me if I am teaching Granny etc-just my thoughts, as many desirable camping places have iffy cambers, slopes etc.

Best of luck

Paul

Garry

Excellent power unit choice. I have travelled literally hundreds of thousands of miles with the "BIG DAF" 11.6 litre unit - primarily on a Bova Futura mind. I always felt the 9 litre unit did not have enough power to pull me out of bed in the morning!

Best thing about a DAF - where ever you are in Europe - you will find parts as common place as McDonalds!

Russell

Message to Swift Group - I want one of these please!
