Had a reply from Practical Motorhome as follows:

Hi Terry
Thank you for your email. Both myself and our Diamond Dave have received a number of similar letter from our readers.
For now we will continue to report on the issue and voice our readers' concerns in the magazine.
On the issue of tests, look out for our August issue where we do reverse a Kon-Tiki on the new automatic gearbox up a hill.
Best wishes

Good news for automatic buyers/owners but these are few & far between, the test most will be interested in is the 6 speed manual box, the ones we already know to have a problem & the base for a vast majority of motorhomes.

A step in the right direction nonetheless.

No mention of Judder in this month's Caravan Club magazine, i know i'm just one of many to write to them about this issue, wonder if they'll find space in next month's member's letters section?

Bump

For any new members with a Fiat X250 that don't already know about it's juddering characteristics.

I received yet another ‘stock response’ letter from Fiat UK customer relations today advising me that i should give it more revs in reverse to reduce the juddering, that there is no manufacturing fault & that at this time they feel unable to extend the vehicle’s warranty period for clutch & gearbox.

So, Fiat still insist that there’s nothing wrong & see no need to offer any reassurance to it’s customers, they did however inform that they had passed on my concerns & dissatisfaction of the situation to Fiat head office in Italy.

There you have it, exactly what Fiat are intending to do about this whole sorry mess………… nothing!!!
