Fiat have not given any clear indication of any dates for the revision

If ordering new try adding a factory fit only item which may help in getting a new chassis, if looking at an already built model then ask Fiat if it has been done, you will need the chassis number

Very few dealers have openly admitted that there was a problem so it is unlikely they will be overly helpful in answering your request

If it is any help Peugeot have been more helpful in rectification, but sadly the 3 litre owners have not been offered any solution by any of the chassis makers.

I've noticed a couple of threads appearing for the new Renault Traffic where gearbox problems are appearing and the dealers and Renault are ignoring them or not treating them as serious as the posters think they should. Perhaps this is the start of their "Juddergate"!

Do you know for sure that they have modified the 3 litre, wouldn't doing so and saying they had done so be admitting that there was a fault, Alan.

Fair point Alan.
I understood Fiat had modified 2.3 gearboxes, so assumed they would have done the same for 3 litre models.
Are owners of newish 3 litre MHs still experiencing problems?
It appears a vehicle could have been despatched from Italy 12 months before being sold to the first owner, after visiting Alko and the converter.

As far as I know Brian the 3 litre has not changed and I do know a good many owners report judder. Mine had a new clutch under warranty at 16,000 miles because it started to slip. It still judders. Fiat just keep telling me that the 3 litre has no fault.

Originally when I went to Fiat garages, three in total one in the UK, one in Germany and one in Spain they all agreed that my van was faulty. This year I have been back to the dealers in Germany and Spain for other work (new tyres and servicing) and have mentioned the problems again, both drove the van and then told me it was within tolerances and no repair was needed.

It seems clear that this change of mind has come about because Fiat have told them what they must say to 3 litre owners, Alan.

Ring Fiat UK and report it (you will find the number on this thread although that may take some time), they have been quite good with 2.3 owners and I am fairly sure I have read that they have said they will not too strict about whether the van is still within the 3 years warranty. Worth a try, Alan.

Ihave been told recently by the dealer who did mine that Fiat are still paying for the mod to 2.3 vehicles. They will though no longer automatically pay for the scuttle mod - you have to be very demanding!
