Leave the leccy on permantly and buy a crate of beer.
We have just been away for 10 days without a hookup. Ok, we were prudent with lights etc, but managed to watch TV for a couple of hours most days.
The SP will only get better during the next few months, so I'm happy to pay the price.
To keep your battery topped up why don't you get one of the folding, suitcase type. They usually come with several connectors and would be just enough to trickle charge your battery.
