I have recently joined this group as a subscriber and I not that one can place a review of the service one receives from a Motorhome Dealer. I have tried several times through this site to find MARQUIS MOTORHOMES, Lower Upham, Nr Southampton, but I have been unsuccessful. There does not seem to be one! Although I have had dealings with them since last August.
I wish to relate a most unsatisfactory after sales service which started last August on the purchase of my current van (Peugeot Boxer,Autosleepers Executive GLS,reg 2004) and has only just had the work finished under their 3 month warranty.
Items included... replacement window blind, replacement rear high level brake light, adjustment of roof vents so that they work properly, fitting of cycle carrier, refund of road tax.
The staff were always pleasant and polite but they would not do what they promised and the Firm tried to refuse payment to the Isle of Wight Dealer /Repairer to which they agreed I could go, to to save keep crossing the Solent!
It seems to me,that the bigger these firms become, the more difficult it is to get anything done once you have paid your money. I was surprised to find out that Marquis is part of the Autosleepers group!
My advice is to get everything that is agreed in writing. There does not seem to be a 'Gentlemen's Aggreement' anymore.

Richbrid.

My experience exactly at Marquis of Southampton. Although I thought they were improving since they employed a new service manager in 2006.
It would appear that Marquis is the new Brownhills!!
If you have further problems with your Autosleeper go direct to Autosleepers at Willersley...nice people, very helpful and will 'kick Marquis butt' to get things moving for you.

My mechanic told me, "I couldnīt repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

IF YOU CAN´T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU´VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Hi

Although I can't comment on the service at the Southampton branch of Marquis, we recently bought our new to us motorhome from Marquis at Bagshot.

As there always seems to be more negative comments about dealers than positive ones I must say that we have received good service from them before, during and after buying the van.

We have never bought from a dealer in the uk before, we have always bought in Germany. We were very wary after reading lots of negative comments but from our experience Marquis have certainly matched up to their German equivalents.

Never had a problem with Upham branch, Poole or Bagshot branches. Upham in particular were always very helpful. Mind you the last time we had contact with them was about 3 years ago. Things might have changed.
