Well now we're getting used to the van etc, we're starting to make a couple of purchases, although I'm determined not to fill it with clutter (that'll change no doubt!).

For the summer - if it ever arrives - and travelling abroad, I'd like a small barbeque that'll sit under the bench & then i can just lift a bottle out of the locker & as the saying goes, we're cooking on gas (I'll think about the external BBQ point later).

So are there any recommendations at all out there, is a CADAC the answer to all prayers, just they look a little steep price wise if you don't use them to their potential.

Don't want to rely on disposable charcoal barbys as more & more places don't seem to like you using 'em

Hello!
My favourite portable BBQ is this one by Weber http://www.northlineexpress.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=6WR-1520

They are available in the UK (I had one) but, whereas it's about $55 in the USA, expect to pay around £75.00 in ROB. Confused

A Cobb.
It's fantastic and you can use it indoors although you must light it outside.
It is a charcoal barbie though.

If you use a charcoal Barbeque indoors you are lilely to poison everyone! Carbon monoxide is produced and it is extemely poisonous , and odourless . Use outside only ( under awning cover perhaps.

We've got one of these

It's small, and although not working off propane, it runs off the small blue Gaz canisters, available almost everywhere.

It may be too small for you, but it's ideal for the two of us. We can sit it on the table, and cook what we want in front of us - so the cooking is part of the experience, if you like.

Anyway, we like it Embarassed

Cobb is great we bought one last year.

Take a while to heat up (just open the Wine) but are very easy to use and yes once the fire lighters have got the coals going you can use it indoors.

The blurb on the website tells you this you can even put it on the table as there is no heat on the outside apart from the top cover.

I agree, just make sure you have good ventilation.
I know when we bought ours the information given, was that we could use it indoors.

Hi Alfa_scud

We have one of the Cadac Safari Chef LP barbeques which we run off our spare propane gas bottle. There are currently £48.75 at Riversway Leisure. We have used it for about a year and it has been a great buy.
Cooked pizzas, fried rice, eggs, and any other traditional barbeque food.

The Party Grill & the Safari Chef look like possibles, with the advantages that the Safari Chef has various cooking bits included too. However, there's no indication as to how physically big they are - the CADAC says it weighs 4kg so I'm guessing it's not that big, but roughly what diameter is the cooking area please if anyone knows
