A few weeks ago we decided we were going to change to an RV. After 18 months of fulltiming we know its the future for us.
Shona came up with our now acquired and settled into RV. Its a real classic ( means its old lol) Chevrolet 6.2 Leisure craft.
We have now lived in her for over a fortnight and for us it really is better. There is room for Jessica to run about and spread her toys about and room for her dad to work, especially since I have taken out one of the bucket seats and built a two man computer station.
Jesica loves it, especially the bath where she splashes and has real bathtime fun now rather than just a shower.
Of course within a couple of days we found the water leak that all MHs/RVs seem to come with as a non-optional extra. I sourced it back to a pipe in the bathroom and until I get to Duncan for a proper repair I have made a very good one by wrapping the 12 mm pipe with 15mm water hose pipe and siliconing/jubilee clipping it in place. During this job I was amazed to notice the floor actually looked like it was made out of the sort of wood you would expect to see on a boat - really thick.
We have a problem with the engine. She starts on the button and around town is so easy to drive its amazing but on the open she lacks top end speed. Duncan is relaxed about this and says she just needs a service so after Peterborough we are heading up north for him to do that.
To complete the team we have also bought ourselves a toad - a little hijetty - small enough to tow, big enough for me to get into
stew

Congrats on your new purchase Stew and Shona. Watch out your older kids don't come and squat now you have more room let alone people without vans, or those of us with tiny PVCs who come calling

Welcome to your new home. The fuel consumption info is fabulous - I shall have to try that one!
I love the toad too.

For those that have not moved home as such with a motorhome/RV, I assure you it almost takes as long to empty one and refill the other as it does when moving with bricks and mortar.
