It only takes me 6 or 7 minutes to completely remove the bike rack. Just two nuts and bolts! So if your security system is based on locking the bikes to the rack, then I'm afraid that is no security at all.

Hi

I know that , you know that but

As Michael Caine would say 'not a lot of people know that'.....

But a valid point ......a good idea to broadcast it to the internet and google? not sure Laughing ....

ah well, never mind we only have ordinary old bikes on our rack and I think that is the best deterent. Wink

Mike

I now understand why the motorhome garage was invented.

If I can work out how to get the rack off, I'm sure thieves and low-life who make a career out of thieving can.

As you say, the best deterrent is not to have something on show that thieves deem valuable and irresistable.

We personaly Use D locks and a couple of flexible locks to secure the bikes , but sadly if someone is determined enough they will take it.

The idea of having a garage is very appealing , but unless its had the standard locks replaced,i would question their security. Had alook at the locks on several vans at the NEC show , considering people spend hundreds on alarms , trackers etc the locks looked pretty poor.
