Our Australian friends have phoned for help this afternoon. The Toad alarm on the Swift Lifestle would not work, even a change of battery could not turn the alarm off.
They were on the CC site at Crystal Palace. It turned out it was the radio signal from the mast blocking their alarm fob signal.
The wardens have a piece of aluminium available to shield the fob, allowing it to work.
They had called someone out, but were in time to cancel him. |

Hi Steersy
This happened to us when we stayed there for 2 nights last month. Ended up just locking the doors, thinking the alarm was broke. Didn't even think to try it until we got home. I rang the installer and he immediately said "where you staying at Crystal Palace". He explained about the TV transmitter.

We had a terrible fight last night.....my wife asked me what was on the TV and I said "dust".
I treat every day as if it was my last. One day i will be right. |

Hi,
We had the same experience many years ago at the Crystal Palace site
Myself and lads had gone to a computer show at Earls court (remember them!) and Sheila was looking forward to a peaceful afternoon when the alarm went off and couldn't be stopped. Everyone around on the site ignored her plight and eventually the (then) warden came round and stuffed a towel over the siren. She was not well pleased when we arrived back.
The alarm never worked again
