I recently aquired a VW T4 Holdsworth Villa - amongst the bits and bobs that came with it was a nice set of internal screens (I assume they're internal as they have suckers in all the right places?).
All of the front, side and rear windows are single glazed with the base model glass. What would be the purpose of fitting these screens to the cab area whilst the rest of the van is uninsulated? I think they just take up a lot of rather valuable space.
Anybody else have this type of motorhome and get any benefit from fitting "silverscreens"?

The grass is not, in fact, always greener on the other side of the fence. Fences have nothing to do with it. The grass is greenest where it is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the grass wherever you may be.

Generally speaking the silver screens keep the windscreen and door windows free from condensation, also, of course, it is difficult for people to see through them.
Even though the other windows in the vehicle are uninsulated, the screens make a big difference. The best way to find out if you should junk them would be to have a night/day in the van with and another without , then you can make a judgement for yourself.
Mind you they're not cheap so its worth keeping them in a bag in the garage or womewhere, just in case

No they do not. Fitting internal screens increases the amount of condensation in my experience and in the view of many others.
External screens do not do this though.

Well thats a surprise to me, I use them I dont get condensation, I dont use them I do.
Maybe I live in an alternate universe only tenuously connected to the one everyone else exists in

I used to own a Holdsworth Villa Type 4 VW and made internal silver screens for the single glazed windows, I also used an external silverscreen for the windscreen. Once all the screens were on I suffered no problems with condensation at all but without the screens the windows would be running with water by the end of the night. Wonder if you have purchased my old Villa?????

Our van has standard Ford glass all round. Double glazing was £1,500 extra
We used to have big condensation probs on the inside of the windscreen before we got our external silver screens. Now there isn't a sign of condensation no matter how cold overnight.
Strangely we get virtually no condensation on the side and rear glass and there's four of us breathing inside and we've been in there on some v cold nights.
That's why I don't really believe the dire predictions from some people about the single glazing on the Autoslipper Warwick.

My experience with the people on the Silver Screens stand at shows is not good. I stand back and listen. I talk to them directly. They promote their product by rubbishing the competition. Like Taylormade. But in all fairness Taylormade make a comporable range of quality products and sell their products on its merrits alone.
Who would you rather deal with?
