Just had a guy pull up and offer to etch all my van windows including plastic hab windows and headlamps for £12 with the registration number of the truck.

Thinking of Patch going missing I thought it was a good idea and may just make life a little more difficult for the thieving toerags so gave him the go ahead.

Did not take long and he made a good job of the etching

He was from Securi-Mark and will be at the Peterborough show.

regards

Geoff

£12 very well spent, would deter most thieves

Anyone know if there's a kit to do this yourself ?

£12.00 is buttons but I don't think I'd get it done for that around here.

Dave.

The driver and passenger door glass looks like this. The other windows dont have the backing, so are not to obvious, but can be clearly seen

Our van is registered with the Retaina Group, which if I remember rightly, etches new Fiats and other makes with a unique registration code. There is also a warning 'sticker' placed on the 2 side cab windows. This code goes on a Database which records legitimate ownership of vehicle. They claim a big drop in thefts of vehicles registered this way. Cost £20. Our new van wasnt etched so it cost me an extra £5 for a kit to do the job myself.
