Hi all, found site today and here I am with my first post. I'm living and working in Toulouse France, I've decided it would be better to stop paying a fortune in rent and buy a M/H to live in so in June I'm hopefully going to buy one secondhand from England and drive it down here, I was thinking of a Hymer but any information on any type would be appreciated and any dealers in/near East Yorkshire.

If you live in France you might think of a French LHD vehicle.

If you look through the forum some people who live for long periods out of UK have problems with registration MOT and insurance.

I wouldnt buy one in the uk if you live in France.

As has been posted tho, insurance means genrally (in my experience and without resort to legal fact, or looking it up on google. ) that you need an address of some sort,

I live in Spain and looked at buying in UK and France.The cheapest way was to buy in Germany and import into Spain.This was last year.

Hi Trev
Are you a "conny" working at that big place????
My wife and I have just bought our first van. A Chausson Flash. Delivery in 3 weeks. Having been in Europe for ages with a car and having the problems with MOT tax etc I would recommend getting a left hooker. I re-registered the car and it is now so much less hassle and everything is cheaper. For instance my car insurance with a UK policy for Europe was 700 pounds fully comp. My French policy for fully comp which also includes my wife and gives us full Euro breakdown is 350 Euros.
