Received an invitation to the 'World Series by Renault' which is at Silverstone this year. Good mix of racing, displays and games for the kids and it is FREE yes free. Razz

It is a 2 day event but I do not know if you can park at the circuit or if they have space for motorhomes in the main car parks. Hopefully someione will be along who does.

Tickets can be found via this link:

http://www.worldseriesbyrenault.com/silverstone/uk/

Hope this is useful for any of the membership into racing cars.

Unfortunately it clashes with the Stratford RV show so we have got to decide as a family which we will attend.

Ed

Had a look at Silverstone's own site and they list a few camp sites here:

http://www.silverstone.co.uk/php/ci_accommodation_campsites.html

No sign of anything about staying in the motorhome in the car parks. Has anyone out there done this previously?

Ed

We went to the weekend last year (at Donnington) - it was a very enjoyable weekend for all the family.

I tried to find info on camping at the circuit, but came up blank. In the end, I booked into a small, local site on the Friday night, then travelled to the site on the Saturday morning. When I got there, I asked one of the marshalls where the campsite was and he pointed me in a general direction, and told me to ask someone else when I got nearer. I just headed for a group of motorhomes and pitched up near them. As it turned out, this was just a part of the car park, not the campsite. By the end of the day, there were dozens of motorhomes, caravans and even tents all in this area. We didn't get bothered by any circuit staff, and didn't even have to pay anything!

I would suggest just heading there on either the Friday night, or the Saturday morning and seeing what is there - if you're brave!

Me? I'm working this year so can't attend. Shame.

Thanks Colin and B!ondini for the good info. Still not sure if we will go to this or the RV show at Stratford as it will be a family decision Rolling Eyes

Like the racing but also like the thought of browsing the vans and looking for bargains. Smile
