Hello, I am new to this forum and have great hopes that someone out there may be able to help me.

I have two problems with my Oyster system, one simple and one more complicated (I think!). The cable connector on my LNB has broken and I need to find where I can obtain a replacement. This is the problem I 'thought' was simple, however due to the cable being fairly thin, at least compared to Sky cable, I have been unsuccessful in finding a supplier. Can anyone help on this one please?

The second problem is that I cannot find a anyone who is prepared to repair or service these systems, they only carry out installations. Before the LNB connector expired, when the system finished searching for the Astra satellite, despite the panel declaring this had been found, I still had to fine tune it manually. Can anyone help with this one please?

Thank you in anticipation

enjohn

Try RS Components or CPC for the part or even Julian Preston MD of Oyster Sat Tech Ltd, the UK arm of Ten-Haaft. They are based in Leicester www.ten-haaft.de will give you the phone number.

Hope this helps

Many thanks for your quick response. I imagine I will find the contact details for the suppliers on Google? I will contact the ten Haaft UK place after the Bank Holiday.

Thanks again for such a quick response.

Hi

You could call Robert Jackson at TSC on 07801 843332. He installed my system and is a helpful chap.

Russell

Robert uses the forum although I have forgotten his user name!

Hi Enjohn,

We had the same problem with having to manually tune for Astra 2, this is due to a new Arabian satellite that is in a close orbit to Astra. The software in the Oyster system needs updating to fix the problem.
TSC sorted this out quickly and as Russell said they are very helpful. I am sure they would also sort out the coax as well!

Neil

Many thanks to Russell and Neil for their quick responses with information about Robert Jackson from TSC. I have spoken to him on his mobile today and he is going to rectify the problems at my home address.

I will update you when this has been done.

Kind regards

Nick
